The courtyard of the Posavje Museum Brežice Castle came alive once again on Friday, 19 June 2026, celebrating local flavours, tradition, and pleasant social gathering.

On Sunday, 31 May, the Sava Connects event took place in the Brežice Hydroelectric Power Plant Park, organised by the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Youth Brežice and HESS d.o.o. – Hydroelectric Power Plants on the Lower Sava River along the Sava River.

Brežice once again proved that the rich culinary and winemaking tradition of the area continues to develop at an exceptionally high level. At the traditional ceremony dedicated to homemade baking and fine wine, awards were presented to the best bread and potica makers, and the holders of the prestigious title Mayor’s Wine 2026 were announced.

Every year on May 20, we celebrate World Bee Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bees and other pollinators for life on our planet.

At the event of the Slovenian Tourist Board, which took place yesterday at Tavčarjeva domačija in the Poljanska Valley, the destination of Brežice once again received the highest recognition – the platinum Slovenia Green Destination label.

This is an important international day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and preserving nature for future generations.

On Thursday, 16 April 2026, Brežice Castle, the most magnificent building in Brežice and home of the Posavski muzej Brežice since 1949, became the centre of the first Festival Gradovi Posavja 2026.

This year, the traditional wine pair – Cviček PTP and Beli Bizeljčan PTP – was once again included in the selection, while Yellow Muscat was chosen as this year’s Mayor’s Wine.
