The season of wacky events is just around the corner, bringing you plenty of fun and carnival joy.
Takeover of the municipality of Brežice
It will take place on Friday, February 9th, in front of the Brežice municipality building. This year marks the 24th consecutive year of the Fašjenk Dobova taking over the authority and installing a new Fašjenk's mayoress. The program will be diverse and thematic, starting at 12 o'clock.
Put on your favorite costume and dance through the Saturday night
The very next day, on Saturday, February 10th, a Fašjenk Disco Party will be held in Dobova at 8 p.m. in the carnival hall. Organizers promise a party that will take you back to the 80s and 90s, as DJ SANDI will provide retro music and ex-Yugoslavian hits.
You can have fun with your friends at the Youth Center Brežice to the rhythms of The Rafters band starting at 9 p.m. and participate in the competition for the best carnival mask - the top 3 will receive prizes.
Shrove Tuesday for all tastes
On Tuesday, February 13th, you are invited to a carnival procession starting at 4 p.m. at the Mavrica Brežice Kindergarten. The procession will end with festivities at the Youth Center Brežice, where children's joys and tasty doughnuts, traditional carnival treats, await you.
On Tuesday, February 13th, you can indulge in a special carnival experience at the Masked Castle Evening, which will take place in the Wine Cellar of Brežice Castle. Your taste buds will be pampered by Ošterija Debeluh, Tourist Farm Vimpolšek, Inn Pension Les, Istenič Sparkling Wines, and a rich wine selection from local providers, curated by sommeliers. Don't miss the carnival in Dobova
On Saturday, February 17th, the 26th International Carnival Festival - Fašjenk Dobova will take place in Dobova. The carnival procession will traditionally start in the village of Loče and arrive in Dobova at 3 p.m.
On the Dobova playground, there will be presentations of carnival groups, followed by a grand carnival celebration in the Dobova sports hall with the band DŽUBOKS.
