The Walls of the castle

The remains of 4-metre thick walls from the 16th century, which closed off the castle yard to the east, were found in the north-eastern tower of the castle. The remains of walls discovered below them probably date back to the Middle Ages. The eastern walls partly stretched to the nearby moat and may be the remains of the eastern construction of the southern town gate from the 16th century that probably stood a little to the north. The ground plan of the castle walls is shown on the pavement.
