A continuous series of houses in the southern part of the street Gasa was built onto the town walls. In the previous centuries, the houses were mostly occupied by craftsmen. Gasa is seen by many as one of the most beautiful streets of Brežice. Gasa (today Ulica Stare Pravde Street) runs semi-circularly from the medieval southern town gate at the castle to the former post office where it joins the main street opposite the Town Hall. In the middle of the 19th century, there was an infirmary, from 1872 on a hospital and, in the early 20th century, a kindergarten and a study.
