"Discover the town at the confluence of the Sava and Krka rivers through numerous stories that give the town its unique character. Love is the common thread that connects and represents the landmarks of Brežice's old town center. Through stories, we encounter different types of love that give meaning to an individual's life and delve into the significance of love. We don't just learn about the facades of buildings; we experience them personally through narratives, and some we also visit.
The path of love or love stories connects 10 Brežice landmarks; the stories are either true or have evolved over time as part of folklore in the form of legends, making each town special and unique.
Experience itinerary:
- Gathering at the starting point, Brežice Youth Center, with free parking available near the building
- A walk through the town park and presentation of the destination with an emphasis on sustainable operation
- A stroll to the old iron concrete bridge over the Sava and Krka rivers. Along the way, a stop at the chestnut grove by the drinking fountain, where visitors can refresh with water.
- Most love stories are hidden behind the mighty walls of Brežice Castle, home to the Posavje Museum Brežice.
- The journey continues with a local tourist guide among the magnificent buildings of the old town center, which will reveal their rich stories through the eyes of love.
- The highlight of the experience will be in the most idyllic city building that inspired creators to create the Love Path – the Water Tower. Guided tour through the 6 floors of the tower all the way to the top, where there used to be a water tank, today offering a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
