Our journey unveils lesser-known, yet all the more captivating tales – from the Roman beginnings of the Romula fortress to the legends of counts who transformed Mokrice into a cultural and natural gem of the Posavje region.
We will walk past a Roman milestone, through the arcades of the castle courtyard, past the statues of the Four Seasons, to the tower of the tragic Countess Barbara, and on to the well that still inspires legends.
The path continues into the park, designed by Count Auersperg in the style of the imperial gardens in Vienna, where today we find remnants of exotic trees, former orangery grounds, the spruce valley, a pond with a romantic tale, and a silent valley where the souls of noble families still dwell. With each step through the centuries, you will feel a living heritage.
