The latest film from the cinematic giant Ken Loach tells the story of TJ Ballantyne, a pub owner facing financial difficulties that threaten closure. The narrative unfolds with the arrival of Syrian refugees in his village. TJ forms an unexpected bond with Yara, a young Syrian refugee. This budding friendship develops despite tensions and prejudices within their community. The film revolves around the concept of solidarity, encapsulated in the phrase "When you eat together, you stick together." Syrian refugees have settled in a village in northern England devastated by the tragic decline of the local mining industry. Their arrival exacerbates the village's dire economic conditions, further intensifying tensions between local residents and newcomers.
