Vitus Trail in Bizeljsko
As part of the Posavje Hiking Festival 2025, we invite you to explore the Vid Trail – a picturesque hiking route winding through vineyards, traditional farms, and natural landmarks of the Bizeljsko region.
The trail begins at the Ethnographic Collection of Marija Sušnik, offering a glimpse into the life and work of past generations. After a gentle ascent, the path leads through vineyards with breathtaking views of the Bizeljsko hills, the Holy Mountains, and even Sljeme above Zagreb. Along the way, you’ll encounter charming chapels, old farmhouses, and traditional wine cellars, each telling a story of the region’s rich heritage.
Friendly local farms along the trail offer tastings of local wines and homemade delicacies. In autumn, hikers are accompanied by the soft sounds of traditional "klopotec" wind rattles, while in spring, the landscape bursts into color with blossoming fruit trees and vines. The trail passes the Church of St. Vitus, where you can choose to continue toward the Holy Mountains or follow the Castle Trail leading to Bizeljsko Castle.
The Vid Trail is the perfect choice for anyone seeking a pleasant hike, stunning views, and an authentic connection with nature and local traditions.
