The exhibition will present works by Alenka Gerlovič (1919–2010) and Franjo Stiplovšek (1898–1963), created in 1947 during the construction of the railway line from Šamac to Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The railway was built by youth work brigades, so the exhibition will explore the circumstances of the brigades’ formation and operation, as well as the role of artists in shaping the image of the “shock worker hero” and promoting the brigades. Their perspective on the brigades will be complemented by a digital presentation of works by other authors from different museums.
The exhibition curators are Mihaela Kovačič and Andrejka Vabič Nose.
