With an energetic concert by the band Vatra and a spectacular fire show, the 2025 edition of Mestna promenada Brežice came to a close. This largest summer event in the town once again brought together local artists, providers, families, visitors from near and far, and numerous partners. Over the course of ten days, the old town center hosted more than 20 events, blending music, art, gastronomy, and sustainable thinking. This year, the event welcomed a record number of visitors — just over 20,000.
Brežice Prove That Large Events Can Be Sustainable
This year’s Mestna promenada Brežice 2025, organized as a two-star “Zero Waste on the Go” event for the second consecutive year, once again followed high environmental standards and encouraged visitors to manage waste responsibly. With the support of the Green Patrol, special attention was given to waste separation. Official waste weighing results are still pending. At the opening ceremony, the destination of Brežice was also awarded the Slovenia Green Destination Platinum, the highest recognition within the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism—currently held by only five destinations in Slovenia.
Unforgettable Afternoons and Evenings for All Generations
Among the standout highlights of this year’s promenade were the unique performance by Brežice musicians under the name Brežice Izbrano, led by local artist Robert Petan, with guests Nuša Derenda, Niko Zagode, Adrijana Jelen, Rok Ferenčak, and Anja Kramar & The Rafters. Other musical attractions included performances by Klapa Semikanta, ABBA Real Tribute Band, and the Parni Valjak tribute band P. Valiak. One of the most magical moments was the evening concert with Maja Keuc and the Lučke Children’s Choir from Kapel.
The streets were filled with the aromas of traditional cuisine prepared by local providers under the Brežice Izbrano collective brand, while children enjoyed the visit of Pippi Longstocking, creative workshops, a mini athletics Olympics, circus shows, and the performance Light of the Ancestors.
The event, organized by the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Youth Brežice, with the support of the Municipality of Brežice, green sponsor HESS d.o.o., and sponsors Kovis d.o.o. and GEN energija d.o.o., was warmly received:

Summer Experiences in Brežice Continue
The summer spirit in Brežice continues with a rich selection of activities under the umbrella program Poletna doživetja 25’, running until the end of August.
