On Tuesday, April 22, the new premises of the Tourist Information Center Čatež ob Savi were officially opened at Terme Čatež. The center, along with the interactive Digital Castle Room – The Magnificent Seven Castles of Posavje, has moved to a larger and more modern space.
The new location is situated opposite Hotel Čatež within the Terme Čatež complex. It has been thoughtfully designed to be both functional and contemporary. In addition to the main information point, the center offers visitors an interactive experience of the Digital Castle Room, a dedicated space for the promotion of local providers, and a shop featuring souvenirs and products under the collective brand Brežice Selection.
At the opening ceremony, Katja Čanžar, Director of the Brežice Institute for Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Youth (ZPTM), emphasized the importance of the Tourist Information Center as the first point of contact for visitors to the destination. She highlighted the successful collaboration with the Municipality of Brežice and Terme Čatež, which made the new space possible—now offering information, inspiration, and local products under the Brežice Izbrano brand.
Mayor of Brežice, Ivan Molan, also addressed the guests. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of organized tourism in the municipality, he stressed the significance of spa tourism and the promotion of local offerings. Anja Avšič, Head of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Tourism, expressed satisfaction with the improved functionality and size of the new location. Vito Petan, Director of Hotels, Healthcare, Thermal Riviera, and the Camp at Terme Čatež, announced a celebration of the spa’s centenary this June and presented the latest developments and excellent results for the current season, already outperforming the previous year.
As part of the event, newly trained local tourist guides received their official licenses after completing a professional course led by ZPTM Brežice. The program addresses the growing need for high-quality, authentic guiding based on in-depth knowledge of the local area and the ability to create genuine connections with visitors. New certified guides include: Mihael Galič, Sandra Huđber, Anja Krušnik Cirnski Žrlič, Klemen Mlakar, Katja Pinterič, Mojca Tabor, and Nina Zorko.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured Mayor Ivan Molan, Katja Čanžar (ZPTM Brežice), Nataša Šterban Bezjak (RRA Posavje), and Vito Petan (Terme Čatež).
The opening was musically enriched by a brass quintet from the Brežice Music School.
We warmly invite you to visit the new center—a place where every guest is welcomed with information, inspiration, personalized advice, and a sense of belonging.
