Fair of Handicraft Skills and Baroque Day at the Posavje Museum Brežice

Sejem rokodelskih znanj in veščin in Baročni dan v Posavskem muzeju Brežice

The event attracted numerous visitors who had the opportunity to explore traditional handicraft skills up close, take part in creative workshops, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Baroque era.

The Baroque Day is the central event of the cross-border project Interwoven Diligent Hands (acronym: EU4Crafts), in which the Posavje Museum Brežice (SLO) collaborates with Trakošćan Castle (HR). The project connects craftsmanship, Baroque art, and collective memory, emphasizing the importance of cooperation, creativity, and sustainable development. During this event, Brežice Castle symbolically came to life as a meeting point between the past and new connections.

Visitors had the opportunity to take part in numerous workshops, including candle-making from beeswax, lip balm preparation, embroidery, paper flower making, recreating motifs from the Baroque staircase, calligraphy, Baroque cuisine, and Baroque dance. The event was enriched with music and performances by Znamenite Posavke in Posavci, members of KUD Cvetilski zvon (HR), and KUD Josip Genc (HR).

At the same time, the Fair of Handicraft Skills and Knowledge took place at the museum, featuring artisans and craftsmen from the Posavje region and beyond. Visitors could learn about traditional production techniques, admire unique handmade items, and meet the creators behind them.

Through the fair and the Baroque Day, the Posavje Museum Brežice once again demonstrated that cultural heritage and contemporary creativity can together create a rich space for connection, learning, and inspiration.
