A vibrant week of activities for all generations lies ahead.
The European Mobility Week in Brežice once again offered a lively and diverse programme for all generations.
This year’s campaign slogan encourages us to reflect on how small changes in our daily travel habits can make a big difference to our health, the environment, and overall quality of life.
In Brežice, the organisers (ZPTM Brežice, the Brežice Sports Association, the Sevnica Cycling Club, and the Municipality of Brežice) prepared a variety of activities that combined movement, safety, socialising, and intergenerational cooperation:
Monday, 15 September 2025
• Basics of e-scooter safety (Brežice Grammar School).
Thursday, 18 September 2025
• Car-Free Day in the old town centre – closure of Cesta prvih borcev, skills courses, and entertainment for children.
• Intergenerational walk (SIC Brežice and Brežice Home for the Elderly).
• Mini Olympics – an afternoon sports and entertainment event in the town centre.
Saturday, 20 September 2025
• Cycling tour Along the Sava River by Bike (Radeče – Brežice).
• Sports tournament in football, basketball, and quoits (playground at Artiče Primary School).
Sunday, 21 September 2025
• Active Sunday at Ban’s Homestead – a day of exercise and socialising in the countryside.
Tuesday, 23 September 2025
• Slovenian Sports Day – recreational run through Vrbina.
The events addressed everyone – from children to seniors – and encouraged active leisure time as well as the use of sustainable forms of mobility.
Every step taken on foot, every kilometre cycled, or every journey by public transport contributes to a healthier environment and a friendlier town.
