On Saturday, March 28, Brežice was once again filled with a festive atmosphere. Organized by the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Youth Brežice, the 4th Easter Market took place, once again bringing together local providers and offering visitors an authentic experience of the upcoming holidays.
The market came to life in a spirit of homeliness, flavors, and tradition. Numerous local creators their offerings, including providers of the Brežice Selected territorial collective brand. Visitors were able to taste homemade delicacies, explore the Easter-themed stalls, and enjoy a relaxed social atmosphere in the old town center.
The event was complemented by a diverse accompanying program for all generations – from live music to creative activities for the youngest. Special attention was drawn to the workshop on making traditional Easter bundles, face painting, and children’s creative workshops, all of which further enriched the festive atmosphere.
A special highlight of the event was the evaluation of Easter poticas, organized in cooperation with the Brežice Association of Farm Women. A total of 13 poticas were submitted for evaluation, which was carried out by an expert committee the day before the event.
Gold awards were received by Primož Pavlič, Janez Duhanič, Anka Vučajnk, and Majda Jurše, the latter achieving a perfect score of 38 points for her walnut potica. Silver and bronze awards were also presented, confirming a high level of knowledge and a strong commitment to preserving the tradition of potica making.
Visitors also had the opportunity to taste the evaluated poticas, further enhancing the overall experience of the market.
The event was very well attended, with exceptionally positive feedback from visitors. They particularly highlighted the pleasant atmosphere, high-quality offerings, and the sense of homeliness that defined the entire event.
