The water tower is the most recognisable silhouette of Brežice and the only water tower in Slovenia that you can also experience from the inside. It was built in 1914, and today it is completely renovated and open to visitors, offering a special programme tailored specifically for families.

The family tour is designed as a playful journey of discovery. Every floor of the tower hides something special, from innovative technical solutions of the past to stories about life in the town that you won’t find in textbooks. Children learn about the past through play, original objects, replicas, and modern technology, so the tour never feels like a dry lecture.
A climb you won’t regret
There are 167 steps leading to the top, which is a real feat for little explorers and a pleasant workout for parents. Those who prefer comfort can take the lift straight to the observation deck. At the top, 46 metres above the town, a reward awaits: the view stretches across the old town centre, the fields along the Sava and Krka rivers, and all the way to the Gorjanci Hills.
