The baroque Church of St. Roch was built after the cholera epidemic around 1764. St. Roch’s Day was especially celebrated by the artisans of Brežice. The church occasionally hosts secular events, in particular concerts. Its dynamic exterior is complemented by its impeccable interior with a large fresco – the scene of Mary’s death. On St. Roch’s Day, 16 August, the church is visited by many pilgrims.
