Kerin Monument and Omerzlov Cross, Osredek pri Podsreda
| Address | Osredek pri Podsredi, 3257 Podsreda |
After the end of World War I, Anton Omerzo erected a cross in 1934 as a gesture of gratitude for surviving the war. The cross symbolized hope and the light of the world until 1996, when it was temporarily removed by his grandson, Marjan Beuc, due to the construction of a new road and the deteriorated condition of the cross itself.
Following the completion of the roadwork, a desire arose among the local residents, particularly within the Beuc family, to restore the cross to its original location. Last year, Marjan Beuc finally decided to restore it. A new, impressive crucifix was erected near the original site, featuring the original image of Jesus that had once adorned the cross.
