The church of St. Barbara, Blatono
| Address | Blatno, 8254 Blatno |
The Church of St. Barbara in Blatno is a subsidiary church of the Parish of Pišece, dedicated to Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners. Until 2011, Masses were held on Sundays but were later moved to Saturday evenings. Located on Saint Barbara Hill in the village of Blatno, this stone-built church features a characteristic rounded chancel, a bell tower on the western side, and a sacristy on the southern side. The interior is adorned with a gilded main altar from the 17th century and a side altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
The church was renovated between 1987 and 1993, during which it was equipped with a new facade, a copper roof, new bells, and electrification. The surrounding area was enhanced with a new access road and external lighting, contributing to the preservation and modern functionality of this cultural monument.
