The Church of St. Mark in Cerklje ob Krki is a significant example of historical ecclesiastical architecture, built in 1906. Construction began in 1905 after the previous church was damaged by earthquakes in 1880 and 1895. The exterior of the church is simple, featuring a temple-like façade and a bell tower, but the interior reveals a rich history and artistic value.

The church interior is highlighted by a presbytery that underwent significant renovation in 1962, based on the designs of architect Tone Bitenc. The main altar features a tabernacle with a canopy and angels, set on a marble pedestal. The altar facing the congregation is supported by vertical hand-shaped elements, a motif also used for the pulpit and the celebrant's chair. The two side altars are dedicated to the Holy Family and Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted, both adorned with statues of saints.

On the back wall of the presbytery is a large depiction of Mary holding the Child, surrounded by angels bearing a crown. The fresco also includes images of saints such as St. Mark, the church’s patron, and St. Joseph the Worker. Stained glass windows, added in the 1960s, were created by painter Stane Kregar and depict scenes from the Bible.
