For the fifth consecutive year, the Pehlivanian Professional Opera Academy, under the artistic direction of Maestro George Pehlivanian, will conclude its international tour in Brežice. Recognised as an important pillar of the international opera scene, the Academy brings together outstanding young opera singers accompanied by some of Slovenia's finest young orchestral musicians.
This year's programme features L'elisir d'amore (The Elixir of Love), the beloved comic opera by Gaetano Donizetti. Set in the Italian countryside, this charming and heartwarming story follows the shy young Nemorino, who is hopelessly in love with the intelligent and wealthy Adina. When he purchases a supposed "love potion" from the travelling charlatan Dulcamara, he believes it will help him win her heart. Filled with humorous twists, unforgettable music and timeless romance, this opera offers an enchanting experience for both seasoned opera enthusiasts and first-time audiences alike.
During the evening, guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy premium wines from Vina Graben Šekoranja, a renowned winery from Brezovica na Bizeljskem.
