Guided Tour: The Bridge over the Sava and Krka Rivers – 120 Years of History

To mark the 120th anniversary of the Brežice Bridge, join us for a special guided experience dedicated to one of the town's most important landmarks.

Officially opened on 25 August 1906, the bridge over the Sava and Krka rivers was, at 524 metres in length, one of the longest bridges in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and an outstanding engineering achievement of its time. Today, it remains an important part of Brežice's cultural heritage and bears witness to many stories that have shaped the town and its surroundings.

During this evening guided walk, a local guide will introduce you to the bridge's history, architectural features and fascinating stories from the time of its construction. Special attention will also be given to its connection with the world of film, as the bridge has served as a backdrop for several film productions, including scenes from Armour of God, starring Jackie Chan.
