Dr Jerneja Ferlež: Josip Pelikan, Idrija and Brežice – A Lecture in the Exploring Posavje Series

As part of the Exploring Posavje lecture series, Dr Jerneja Ferlež will present the life and work of photographer Josip Pelikan, best known for his extensive photographic collection created in Celje and the surrounding area after 1918.

The lecture will also explore other places that played an important role in his life and creative journey: Tarvisio, where he was born; Idrija, where he grew up and developed as a photographer; and Brežice. Brežice held a special place in both his personal life, as he married Marijana Lebar from Brežice, and his professional career.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Historical Society of Celje.
