Cinema in the Castle Courtyard

This year's Open-Air Cinema programme features the Italian-French drama DEAF, a moving and intimate story that offers a unique insight into the world of the deaf community.

During her pregnancy, Angelina begins to worry whether her deafness will affect the bond with her unborn daughter. After the birth, she is supported by her partner Héctor as she navigates the challenges of motherhood in a society that still lacks adequate accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing people.

Through the use of sign language and innovative cinematic techniques that immerse the audience in the protagonist's perspective, the film offers a powerful and deeply personal experience of life in silence. It is a touching story about motherhood, love, resilience and communication beyond words.

The evening will also feature a wine tasting by Andrej Molan from Anovec pri Zdolah.
