The Posavje Autumn Hiking Festival Features 21 Hikes

Autumn in Posavje is once again inviting visitors to explore the great outdoors. The Posavje Autumn Hiking Festival 2026, taking place between 20 September and 29 November, will bring together as many as 21 diverse hikes, offering participants the opportunity to discover Posavje’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, wine-growing landscape and authentic local stories.

The festival begins this weekend. On Sunday, 20 September, at 10:00, the hike along the Artiče Fruit-Growing Trail will set off from Ban Homestead in Artiče. In addition to an enjoyable walk through the fruit-growing countryside, participants can look forward to a varied accompanying programme.

A wide variety of themed hikes will take place over the coming weeks, leading visitors along fruit-growing, wine, castle and mountain trails, past waterfalls and bridges, and through forests and vineyards. The programme will also include family-friendly and night-time hikes, St Martin’s Day celebrations and experiences connected with local flavours and traditions.

Visitors are encouraged to travel to the hikes as sustainably as possible—by public transport, bicycle, on foot or by sharing a ride. Remember to bring a reusable water bottle, stay on marked trails, respect nature, animals and local residents, and take all your rubbish with you. You can also support the local community by purchasing homemade products from local providers along the way.
