Beautiful weather and a varied programme attracted a record number of visitors to Ban’s Homestead in Artiče. Once again, the event brought together hiking, cycling, local cuisine and socialising, with all activities receiving an excellent response.
The day began with the traditional Goulash Cooking Competition, in which nine teams competed to prepare the best goulash. At 9 a.m., hikers set off along the 10-kilometre Artiče Orchard Trail, while cyclists embarked on a 30-kilometre guided cycling experience. Later, families also set out to explore the shorter Water Trail. Refreshment stops awaited both hikers and cyclists along the way.
Ban’s Homestead was bustling with activity throughout the day. Younger visitors enjoyed a varied children’s programme featuring creative and other workshops. After the hikers and cyclists returned, everyone gathered for a shared goulash meal. A workshop entitled Sustainable Practices in Viticulture was also held as part of the project The Bizeljsko Loop: From Vine to Experience and was led by Ferdo Pinterič. The Nagajivi muzikanti ensemble provided live music, creating a cheerful atmosphere and bringing the event to a lively close.
The record attendance once again confirmed the great potential of Ban’s Homestead as a venue for events that combine active leisure, local products and socialising.
